Services: Portraits
Whether you'd like to commemorate a special time in your life, create a memorable gift, or just have a little fun, consider a portrait session! The best portraits are those that throw away an old-fashioned, stilted style in favor of photographs that really capture the emotion and personality of the subject(s) involved. From formal to playful to whimsical, portraits are a wonderful way to capture not just appearances, but personalities.
Prints and albums are available to you and your family and friends via my store at printroom.com, and digital CDs of all photographs are available directly from me. Your gallery can be password-protected upon request, so that only you and the people you allow can view and purchase items from the gallery.
I'd like to work with you to really learn what you're looking for in a portrait, in order to create a great experience and produce ideal results.

Details of Services
Production Photos
Photographs that are taken during a dress rehearsal run of the show. It's best if things are as close to performance conditions as possible in order to get the best images. I will also attend a rehearsal and not take photos, just to familiarize myself with the show and the material. If there are moments that you'd really like me to capture, please notify me beforehand so I don't miss them. I shoot continuously throughout the show, without asking actors to pause.
Receive Photos by Opening Night
Many theatre companies like to show production photos in the lobby. If you need your production photos (usually taken at dress rehearsal) by opening night, please let me know. I will sort through the photos immediately and send you the photos in one of the following ways: 1) by e-mail (.zip file), 2) by dropping off a CD, 3) by uploading photos to Walgreens.com.
If photos are uploaded to Walgreens, you can view the gallery online, place a print order, and pick up the print order at the Walgreens location of your choice----usually in an hour after ordering. You are responsible paying for your prints.
Publicity Photos
These are usually staged photos taken midway through the rehearsal process for press releases. They can be photographs of rehearsal, staged photographs with principal actors (costumed or uncostumed), pictures of the director working with the cast, et cetera. I will come to one rehearsal to shoot these photos and have them available to the director or publicist within 48 hours (see "Receive Photos by Opening Night").
Photo Call
Different from shooting production photos, a photo call generally takes place before or after a dress rehearsal, or after a performance. Give me a list of shots you like----groupings, characters, lines/scenes of the show. If the list involves scenes from the show and takes place following a rehearsal or performance, it would be best to order the list from last scene to first scene.
A photo call is open to anyone with a camera who would like to take pictures. Each shot on the list is posed (usually speaking the line that goes into the "freeze" position), photographed by flash cameras (if any), photographed by non-flash cameras (including mine), and then relaxed. Because of the time it takes to set up each shot, I will only take lists with up to 20 shots.
Lobby Headshots
Some companies like to showcase headshots of their actors in the lobby. If not all of your actors have their own headshots, or if you'd like a uniform look, or headshots of actors in character, we can arrange a quick headshot session prior to or following a rehearsal. These sessions generally take five minutes per cast or crew member, so please consider that when scheduling. Also, please make sure that everyone to be photographed will be present.
Photos will be finished like standard headshots unless otherwise requested.
Ordering Prints
I make my theatrical photos available to cast and crew members of the production via an order form which allows them to purchase a CD of all photos. The form also includes instructions on how to order individual prints via my store at Printroom.
Services: Headshots
For actors, models, musicians, and other performers, the classic "8x10 glossy" is often the first way you'll be seen by directors and agents. It's your gateway, your networking tool. A good headshot should encapsulate an immediate glimpse of your personality and type.
Because child and teenage actors grow up quickly and headshots will be quickly outdated, sessions for actors 18 and under are half price.
Black & White (90-minute session) | Adult $150 / 18 and Under $75 |
Color (90-minute session) | Adult $180 / 18 and Under $90 |
Black & White / Color (2-hour session) | Adult $200 / 18 and Under $100 |
CD of all photos with KRP photo credit and release form | $20 |
1 finished & minimally retouched headshot with name printed (B&W/Color Session, 2 shots) | $20 ($30) |
Additional finished shots | $10/ea. |
Prints | Available through Printroom.com |
Details of Services
Sessions
There are three types of sessions: a 90-minute session for black & white photos, a 90-minute session for color photos, and a 2-hour session for both black & white and color photos. Please keep in mind that I shoot everything in color and convert to black & white in processing. However, your clothing choices will differ between black & white and color. Please bring several clothing choices to your session. If female, please bring multiple shades of lipstick.
Black & White: The goal here is to think in grayscale, in terms of light and dark. I generally recommend that cliens in a B&W session wear a simple black shirt. For men, a button-up shirt is preferable to a t-shirt. It's recommended that women wear a black shirt that showcases the collarbone and doesn't show too much cleavage. Jewelry is acceptable but should be simple and minimal. Lipstick should contrast skin tone enough to stand out in grayscale. Avoid wearing blush on the apples of your cheeks. This sounds counterintuitive, but blush creates a darkening effect and in grayscale, it will make the cheeks look sunken.
Color: The goal here is to think vibrant. You want a color headshot to highlight and enhance your natural coloring, as well as be a delight to the eyes. There's no point in having a color headshot if the colors aren't delicious. Consider bright colors and prints in your clothing choices, but avoid anything that you feel might detract from your face. Again, women should focus on shirts that showcase the collarbone.
In both cases, you'll want to consider your "type" as an actor and what kind of personality you want to convey----and yet, you'll also want to look neutral enough to suggest you can transform to different characters. Most people are looking for a headshot that makes a person look fresh, fun, and approachable. Women should wear their hair down and makeup should be neutral.
The goal of each session is to produce one perfect shot to represent you (or two shots, in the case of a session that includes both B&W and color).
Finished Headshots
Following the session, I will load the photos onto the computer and select the best images. I will then work with you via e-mail to select the one shot that will be used for your headshot. Once it's selected, I will retouch the photo, then add a white border and the name you use----I generally use a bold-italic Times New Roman for the font, but we can discuss other font options.
Though the goal is to find one shot, I will finish additional shots for $10 each if you're having difficulty deciding which you like best.
For actor/crew headshots specific to a particular theatrical production, please see the service & price list for Theatre Photography.

Details of Services
Pre-Wedding Consultation
I would like to meet and get to know the couple prior to the wedding, in order to get an idea of what you want. At this consultation, we'll discuss the venue, the services you'd like to have, and the prospective cost. This meeting should last about an hour.
Pre-Ceremony
Photos prior to the wedding at the ceremony venue, usually of the bride and her mother, bridesmaids, the groomsmen, et cetera. These can be posed shots or candids. I prefer not to take photographs at the bride's home while she is getting ready. I have done this in the past and have found that there is so much going on that a photographer is very much in the way. There is a lot of stress and the photographer can really add to that. I recommend choosing a friend to take candid shots of people getting ready prior to going to the venue.
Ceremony
Photos of the ceremony itself. Prior to the ceremony I would like to agree on a location that will be my "vantage point". I understand that the ceremony is not all about the photos taken and therefore don't want to be moving around too much. I'd like to be in the way as little as possible.
Post-Ceremony Group Snapshots
Photos of family and friends with the couple. At the consultation, I will request a list of the groups that you'd like----I will need this list prior to the ceremony. This usually involves a lot of photographs being taken in a very short amount of time, all while rounding up large and varied groups of people. I may require an assistant or two to help gather people, and you might want to consider distributing a few copies of the photo list so people know the basics of what's going on and who's up next. I recommend that you block out at least an hour of time (depending on how many photos you want) if you choose this service.
Post-Ceremony Artistic
These are the "showcase" photos, usually of just the couple. I would like to work out some ideas for this session at the consultation----what kind of shots you're looking for, whether you'd like anyone else involved, how much time you'd like it to take. I recommend that you block out at least an hour of time if you choose this service. The photos will suffer if you're rushing from ceremony to reception.
Reception
Photos of the reception following the ceremony: first dances, cake cutting, speeches. It's very difficult to me to photograph receptions in low light. I prefer not to use a flash but will if necessary. At the consultation I would like to know what shots you think are particularly important. I will stay until all of those shots have been taken.
